It seems everyday this month more campaigns are released and unveiled, and as huge fans of Christmas (and marketing of course!) adigi endeavour to round up the best ones just for you! From Cadbury’s to a huge functional gingerbread bank, there’s a lot of festive cheer going round.
The White House last week unveiled their huge gingerbread replica of the White House, which takes residence in the White House State Dining Room. There are an estimated 68,000 guest expected to visit the White House this holiday season, and so they appear to go all out to entice visitors! The gingerbread house is made from “250 pounds of gingerbread, 150 pounds of chocolate and another 75 pounds of sugar and other baking ingredients” according to the Huffington Post. There are also “62 fir trees with over 70,000 ornamental larger-than-life replicas of Bo and Sunny, the Obamas’ dogs; and a gathering of ‘snow people’ on the White House Grounds” – it all sounds wonderfully festive, and we’re sure it attracts many visitors!

If Carlsberg did Christmas Trees…
They’d probably be 27ft and covered in beer bottles.
The tree is decorated with candle- lit beers and dispenses free Carlsberg beer, located on London’s South Bank it was a winner with locals. If you’re not from the ares, Carlsberg ensured you didn’t miss out on the fun as they ran social media campaigns encouraging fans to follow them and enter competitions to win prizes including a year’s supply of Carlsberg. The If Carlsberg Did… campaign lives on!
From December 1st, Cadbury trucks have been roaming the country delivering chocolatey Christmas joy. You may have seen the adverts leading up to this run through November as they show the trucks come together to make the 24 days of December leading upto the 25th, each having their own ‘advent’ number. These trucks on their designated days will drive to an unsuspecting location in the UK and inside, everything is chocolate- chocolate walls, chocolate presents and baubles, chocolate chairs made from Cadbury’s Wispas, chocolate Father Christmas tables- you get the gist, we hope this one comes to an area near us! The campaign has been received with mass excitement and engagement has been high as everyone wonders where the truck will be next.
PNC recently opened a life-sized gingerbread bank in Philadelphia to promote annual holiday financial reports – calculating all the prices of the gifts in ‘The 12 Days of Christmas.’ The gingerbread bank branch was open to the public and was fully functional- you could open an account and use cash machines all whilst trying to hold yourselves back from eating the walls- there’s a sentence I never thought I’d write! It included 2.5 tons of gingerbread,100 gallons of frosting and 1,232 gumdrops, the bank hopes to drum up excitement with children as they encourage parents and teachers to discuss banking data with them to help them learn how the economy works. The bank had columns featuring the 12 days of Christmas – e.g. The Lords Leaping, The Five Gold Rings, and the children could learn about the gifts and their prices from December 4-6th when the bank was open.
If Christmas begins for you when the Quality Street tin is brought out and everyone launches head first into them, you should have been in London on December 3rd for their transformation of the Southern Terrace at Westfield. Apparently, it was a winter wonderland; there was fake snow, colourful wrappers fell from the sky, there was festive music and many Quality Streets to eat, those in attendance will also be able to take a selfie outside of the real life ‘Quality Street.’ This ties in with Quality Street’s new Christmas advert, where thousands of wrappers fall, to usurp Coca Cola as the markers of the beginning of Christmas with the tagline, ‘The First Sign of Christmas.’
