If you have logged into your Google analytics account recently you’ll have a seen a message to update your account to GA4?
What does this mean for me and my business is a question we are getting asked lots here at Adigi.
So what is it? GA4 refers to Google Analytics 4, which is the latest version of Google Analytics. It is designed to provide a more advanced and sophisticated analytics platform for businesses and marketers to understand their website and app traffic and user behaviour. GA4 offers advanced tracking and analysis capabilities that are not available in the previous version of Google Analytics (Universal Analytics).
Some of the key features of GA4 include:
- Cross-device tracking: GA4 allows businesses to track user behaviour across multiple devices, giving a more complete view of user interactions with their website or app.
- AI-powered insights: GA4 uses machine learning algorithms to provide automated insights and predictive analytics, helping businesses to identify trends and make data-driven decisions.
- Event-based tracking: GA4 focuses on tracking user interactions with specific events, such as button clicks, form submissions, and video views, providing more detailed and accurate data.
- Customizable reports: GA4 allows businesses to create custom reports tailored to their specific needs, helping to focus on the metrics that matter most.
Overall, GA4 provides a more comprehensive and advanced analytics platform that can help businesses gain valuable insights into their website and app traffic and user behaviour.
So if you have a Data studio or a Looker studio as it is now known you will have to upgrade to GA4 for this to continue to produce the reporting (some accounts may need re-configuring) as the data set may be different with the upgrade.
