WordPress Developer

We’re looking for a UK-based front-end-leaning WordPress developer to join our growing team on a hybrid basis. You’ll balance ongoing retainer work with building new sites collaborating closely with designers, account managers, and other developers.

What we’re looking for

  • Problem-solver: You proactively diagnose issues, unblock yourself, and propose practical, well-reasoned solutions.

  • Strong communicator: You explain trade-offs clearly, suggest alternatives, and keep other team members in the loop.

  • Thorough tester & finisher: You test your own work rigorously and hand over cleanly to clients and teammates (docs, walkthroughs, and checklists).

  • Eye for detail & brief-led: You translate the brief precisely, nailing layout, spacing, imagery, and typography across breakpoints.

Turn supplied designs into accessible, performant WordPress front-ends (semantic HTML, modern CSS/Sass, vanilla JS/ES6).

Build flexible, editor-friendly components with ACF (including ACF Blocks/Gutenberg when appropriate).

Optimise for performance (Core Web Vitals), accessibility (WCAG), and SEO basics.

Own the build lifecycle: setup → structure → components → QA → delivery — maintaining high standards and clear communication throughout.

Produce concise documentation, loom-style walkthroughs, and release notes to support client handover and internal collaboration.

Commercial experience shipping WordPress sites from supplied designs.

Front-end fundamentals: semantic HTML, CSS/Sass (BEM or utility-first), responsive layouts, progressive enhancement, JS/ES6.

Experience with ACF, Rank Math, and hosting/deployment on WP Engine (or similar).

Git workflows, npm, and a bundler (Vite/Webpack). Basic PHP templating; Gutenberg/block development a plus.

A quality mindset: you write maintainable code, test thoroughly, and leave things better than you found them.

Problem-solver: You proactively diagnose issues, unblock yourself, and propose practical, well-reasoned solutions.

Strong communicator: You explain trade-offs clearly, suggest alternatives, and keep stakeholders in the loop.

Thorough tester & finisher: You test your own work rigorously and hand over cleanly to clients and teammates (docs, walkthroughs, and checklists).

Eye for detail & brief-led: You translate the brief precisely, nailing layout, spacing, imagery, and typography across breakpoints.

Flags early, asks for help: You surface risks, constraints, or delays early and seek support when needed.

We take pride in the quality and consistency of our builds and continue to evolve our ACF-led approach to deliver flexible, content-managed sites. If you love solving problems, care about craft, and communicate clearly, we’d love to hear from you.

An engaging workplace

Adigi took the time to understand my strengths and expertise. Then allowed me to work on tasks & projects that utilise my specialist skills and work on a variety of interesting and engaging websites. They are a very personable group of people and take a lot of pride in their work.
