An iconic Yorkshire brand, Wensleydale Creamery are an award winning heritage brand well known and loved worldwide. Using traditional methods of handcrafting cheese using time honoured recipes and local ingredients, they needed a website which reflected the heritage of the brand whilst also taking it forward to have a modern ecommerce website. Working in collaboration with Chilli-UK on this project, we brought skills from both agencies together to achieve a project that we’re all really proud of.
Supplying their cheese to major retailers and wholesalers around the UK and exporting their products around the world, the ecommerce website allowed them to have their own route to market, selling directly to the consumer.
The ultimate aim to the website is threefold; to increase brand awareness online, increase footfall to their visitor centre and to increase sales via their website. To achieve this, we designed and built them a user friendly website which drives the key points of the website immediately. The visit and shop pages are easy to find, there’s limited clicks for the user from the homepage to checkout which is optimised for maximum conversion.
If the user wants to purchase product offline in a store, we promote that too through the ‘where to buy’ and a clear trade section for retailers wanting to stock products with pdf downloads. In one website, we’ve worked with Wensleydale Creamery to produce a website for them which will cover all their aims and provide them with a base for continuing to build their brand online.
